Have you heard of 100 Percent Pure? They are an organic cosmetics company based in California providing makeup and skincare products free of artificial colors and fragrances, as well as chemical-based preservatives most makeup brands use for all of their products. As someone who is slowly becoming more and more conscious of what goes into my body (or on it), all I can say is hell yeah. My skin is pretty sensitive and acne-prone, and a lot of the artificial crap most brands put in their products causes me to have itchy skin and eyes, breakouts, and redness. I don’t wear much makeup because of this (and the laziness, I’ll be honest), but looking through their website I want to buy literally everything.
WHAT I BOUGHT:
This is my first venture into all-natural makeup so I will say I don’t have anything to compare it to besides conventional BB creams. Although, I do expect it to perform as well as regular BB cream, so it doesn’t change my review in anyway.
First off, the BB cream only comes in three shades, which is obviously very limited. Thankfully, my skin tone is easy to match, and I found that shade 10 fits my skin perfectly. It has a slight shimmer to it, which I think looks great as it’s not overly-shiny. Just adds a nice, healthy glow 🙂 Once applied, it lasted all day, and at the end of the day, washed off easily with coconut oil as per my usual nightly-skin routine.
I did find that it was rather hard to spread, kind of sticky, so I mixed it with a little moisturizer to get the cream to a more spreadable consistency. It also smelled a little chemically, which surprised me considering the ingredients.
Okay, how pretty is that shiny silver tube?
At first, I thought the mascara was only okay. However, after a few months of use, I’ve decided I like it more than I did initially. When applying, it was very wet and kept getting all over my eyelids, and once it started to dry, was pretty clumpy on my lashes. Once I fixed the clumps with a spoolie, and removed the excess from my eyelids with a q-tip, it looked pretty good. Throughout the day, it stayed looking fresh and didn’t flake. It does flake if I take a nap, but that’s not unexpected. It also didn’t make my eyes itchy at all, which is usually the problem I get with conventional mascaras. Again, the mascara easily washed off when I cleaned my face with coconut oil, so that’s a plus.
Overall, I am satisfied with this mascara. I’m definitely open to trying out another natural brand of mascara, but this one does the job well!
SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
Smells great and leaves my hair super shiny. My second-day hair was less greasy than usual even after working out, and it makes my hair pretty soft. I’ll be investing in the larger bottles once I run out of these!
I love this stuff! It feels really soothing when you apply it, has a nice herb-y minty smell, and has really helped my super-chapped lips over the course of the week. If you’re struggling with dry lips, I’d definitely recommend this chapstick.
All-in-all, I’m pretty impressed with 100 Percent Pure! All the products I tried worked well and didn’t leave my face itchy or irritated like a lot of conventional products, I can’t wait to try more from this brand!
Have you tried any natural makeup products? Do you have any I should try next?
