Hello hello! As my search for the best of natural and organic makeup goes on, there’s a product I haven’t seen much of: color correcting concealers. As someone who deals with breakouts, flushed red skin, and dark undereye circles, I can certainly use a little help. A quick google search for ‘natural green concealer’ brought me to Glory Boon Wholesome Cosmetics, an organic and natural makeup shop on Etsy. Glory Boon creates safe and detoxed cosmetics in small batches, and for natural makeup, the price is pretty dang good.
WHAT I BOUGHT
I snagged three concealers: two color correcting concealers in green and salmon, as well as an all-purpose concealer.
GREEN CONCEALER CRAYON
Alright, so the green concealer was what started this whole color corrective search in the first place. And I’m really happy I bought this! This crayon is heavily pigmented, meaning you don’t have to use very much to get the effect. The formula is creamy and blends seamlessly, basically melting into your foundation. I would say it reduces the redness by about 50%, not that it makes it disappear entirely. But, I do think that it really improves the overall look of my face and makes my red areas a lot less noticeable. The crayon is less than 1 oz in size, but considering how little you need to use at once, it’s going to last me forever. The other wonderful thing about all three of these concealers is that not only do they cover up your little imperfections, but the ingredients are healing (almond oil, shea butter, aloe oil, vitamin E, etc.) so you’re really improving your skin by using them.
SALMON CONCEALER CRAYON
While the green concealer crayon covers up red blemishes and splotchy areas, the salmon covers up my other biggest skin issue: large, blue-tinted undereye circles. I make jokes that I always look like a zombie-girl because I constantly have huge circles under my eyes that make it look like I haven’t slept in a year EVEN THOUGH I really got 9 hours of sleep last night, thankyouverymuchdaylightsavings. This crayon is even more pigmented than the green, and when applied it’s more of a rust color than salmon. It does work, though, but not quite as well as the green (at least for me). Possibly because my skin is very pale so the pigment isn’t quite right. That being said, I will be using this because it does the job.
HEAL & CONCEAL HEALTHY COVER-UP
I bought this because I’m in need of another regular concealer. The part that threw me off is that it comes in one shade only, claiming to work for skin tones ranging from pale (me) to dark. When I first swipe this concealer over my skin, it appears lighter than even MY skin, but it does end up blending well. It covers up my undereye circles, but not as well as the salmon crayon. It blends very nicely with the cc cream I’ve been using as a foundation. This crayon would be best for small blemishes that aren’t heavily pigmented, otherwise I’ll be sticking to my color corrective crayons most days. What I really like about this concealer is how well it works as a stand-alone product for days I don’t want to wear much makeup. When my face is pretty clear, sometimes I don’t feel like wearing any foundation/cc cream and just want something to cover up a couple darker spots or small blemishes. This works really well for those days!
All in all, I’m really pleased with my order from Glory Boon! These concealers will definitely be making their way into my everyday routine. Be sure to check out their shop on Etsy, as they have a ton of stuff besides just concealer: foundations, mascara, eye shadow and liner, basically all of your natural cosmetic needs.
